Hello Goodbye

Image
Hello again! Daniel here with another post. These pictures reflect the wonderful and chaotic last days in America and the first glimpses I had of our new home in Asia. So, with only a few short weeks to pack and say goodbye to Washington State, we did our best. Pea chipped in by continuously taking things out of our suitcases and putting them in random places in our apartment. Thanks pea! We had a fantastic surprise going away party hosted by best friend Tiffany and arranged by our beautiful sister Juliah.  Sometimes you have to eat babies at going away parties. Lovely ladies! Pea's Uncle Spencer should be joining us in February for a visit! Last few days hanging in the backyard with pea. She was all about chalk there for awhile. Last night out at my favorite Italian restaurant, Bella Ninas.  Wonderful last night in Tacoma with the family.     Saying goodbye to Mama and Papa T! Also had to sa

Sing Sing Singapore!

Road to Singapore While on a mission to get our work Visas finalized, the Tice family enjoyed the sights and sounds of Singapore. We enjoyed our two story loft overlooking the city, walking distance to the beautiful Singapore River. Singapore is a clean and green city with many beautiful sights to take in. On top of the nights, Pea didn't nap until our last day in Singapore. We literally danced in the street when she finally fell asleep. It was a fantastic trip, don't get me wrong. But we were quite fatigued upon our return.  The highlight of the trip was taking Pea to the Singapore Zoo...we saw many animals we had never seen before including the pro

Escape to Yogyakarta

October Break - Escape To Yogyakarta, Centra Java After a short 45 minute flight from Jakarta to Yogyakarta, we were on our way to a wonderful week of sight seeing, relaxation and occasional diarrhea.  Chris Broderick, a fellow teacher, took this classic picture of our little Tice unit at Borobodur. Borobodur is a must see for anyone visiting Indonesia. Built around 750AD, it was once listed as one of the Seven Wonders of The World. It is a truly mystical experience, hence the many pictures we took below.   Trying to get Pea to pose with the plaster elephant outside the airport for Auntie Juju but she wouldn't have it.  We stayed at a villa neslted amongst rice and corn fields. A wonderful family ran the villa, including our driver Arie, a friendly and helpful fellow we quickly became friends with.      The villa was killa for a week to chilla.           Inside the villa.           Such a cool experience walking around this village outside of Yogy
